Higher Education for the 21st Century

An Education Built For You

Minerva offers an intensive four-year undergraduate university education designed to prepare you for success in today’s rapidly changing global context. With rigorous academics, small active learning seminars that emphasize discussion and debate, and a fully immersive global residential experience, Minerva is the first university experience built for the 21st century.

In support of our shared commitment to cultivate future leaders and innovators with global understanding, Minerva has created a $5,000 academic scholarship for a Youth For Understanding student or alumni who meets the academic and needs-based qualifications.*

An education built for global explorers

The role of a university education is to prepare students to thrive as leaders and innovators. As the world becomes increasingly interconnected, it is more important than ever that students experience and engage with different cultures and backgrounds throughout college.

Minerva is a truly global university program. Students spend Freshman year living in San Francisco and then travel with their classmates to a different city each subsequent semester -- Buenos Aires and Berlin during sophomore year, Bangalore and Seoul during junior year, and London and Istanbul during senior year. At Minerva students don't live in an isolated campus bubble studying the world from afar, they experience it first hand, using these world-class cities as their classroom and campus.

Take the First Step

No SATs or other standardized tests

No application fee

Minerva's unique and exclusively meritocratic admissions process evaluates student potential rather than opportunity. As a result, the Minerva student body is the most diverse in higher education with ~80% of students coming from outside the United States.

While tuition is already a quarter of that at other highly-selective institutions, as a YFU student or alumni you are eligible for a $5,000 need-based scholarship. If accepted to Minerva, you will automatically be considered for the scholarship  no additional essays or application needed.*

*If the scholarship is still available, RD II applicants will be considered. All applicants who submit the appropriate forms will still be considered for standard Financial Aid at Minerva.
