Allison Gale is a top researcher on mid-ocean ridge basalt geochemistry, having published multiple highly cited research articles. Prior to Minerva, she taught many different geoscience courses as an Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin, River Falls. She earned her Ph.D. and M.A. in Earth and Planetary Sciences from Harvard University.
As a teacher, Professor Gale encourages students to “think” rather than practice rote memorization. She frequently uses different modes of teaching in her classroom, including field trips, hands-on exercises, case studies, and humor. She is excited to participate in a new vision for higher education at Minerva and to work with diverse and motivated students.
