The Visiting Scholars year is for students, looking for a rigorous, interactive academic experience, to establish transferable skills and knowledge which are at the core of Minerva’s transformational education.

Through Minerva's Cornerstone courses, students develop the cognitive skills needed to succeed in their academic and professional endeavors. This unique curriculum taught on ForumTM online learning environment allows students to learn how to think critically and creatively and communicate and interact effectively.

Minerva Schools are part of KGI, which is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC).

Program Details

This two-semester offering allows high school graduates and current university students or graduates the opportunity to engage in an unparalleled learning experience. The Cornerstone courses — 32 units in all — teach the breadth and depth of transferable and interdisciplinary knowledge that will be your foundation whether your next step is attending university, launching a business, or entering the workforce. Every class is highly interactive utilizing Minerva’s fully active learning methodology.

By allowing students to be a Visiting Scholar from anywhere in the world, you will be learning alongside students who share your goals of developing new ways of thinking and problem solving, but have very different backgrounds, values, and future ambitions. Scholars will engage with their classmates inside and outside of class through virtual community programming, as well as group career coaching and talent development sessions.

Admissions Process

Minerva will invite qualified students based on their applications for admissions to the Undergraduate program.

Applications for the Visiting Scholar's year 2021-22 will open soon. Students accepted to a leading university may qualify for the Visiting Scholar year by providing basic identifiable information and proof of admission. Additional information and a list of pre-approved schools can be found in our FAQ. Students from universities that are not pre-approved will be admitted on a case-by-case basis depending on the rigor of their curriculum and English language proficiency.
